Katherine Schrank, J.D., Founder and President
Kate is an environmental lawyer and certified sustainability practitioner, with a background in cross-cultural and world religion studies. Her background and experiences provide the foundation for her belief that the 21st century will focus on encouraging individuals, businesses and governments to make sustainable choices.
There is world-wide consensus among sustainability stakeholders that sustainable choices meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The heart of sustainable choice-making is the belief that businesses and individuals will prosper financially while making choices that are also life enhancing. Sustainable choices are wide ranging - from reducing carbon emissions and energy usage to treating employees and communities with respect and dignity.
Kate has represented clients in a broad range of environmental and sustainability matters including air, water, waste generation and disposal issues, natural resource damage claims, toxic tort issues, environmental due diligence, and environmental policy for small and large businesses. She has also educated and organized many community events, student and civic groups on a variety of topics related to sustainable living.
In addition to Kate's environmental and sustainability background, she earned a business degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana, with a focus on marketing.
